“Sepa” By Viktorija Vrublevska

Synopsis

A poetic short film exploring a process of separation between mother and daughter through the use of contemporary dance and music by Mark Pritchard.

Directors statement

I wanted to do a project that combined contemporary dance and psychological subject for a while now. The theme of mental separation from parents felt appropriate, as it also allowed me to feature dancers of different ages - something that I personally feel is important to promote. Luckily Nikita (DP) was in town when I sent him a treatment, so we just decided to do it. We were also fortunate enough to be able to use music by Mark Pritchard, as I feel like it added another layer of perception.
