“Actual Air” by Mattias Evangelista

Professional skier, Micah Evangelista, has spent his entire life in the small town of Glacier, Washington. This town has shaped who he is as a skier and as human, but as he moves through his life and career, Micah begins to question his decision to stay in his hometown.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

"I grew up shooting action sports, so over the years, I have watched and created an unhealthy amount of action sports 'content.' At a certain point, many of these pieces start to feel very formulaic and repetitive. With this project, I wanted to create something that felt and cut more like a short film instead of your typical action sports edit. My goal was to treat the location as a character so the audience could connect with the place that my brother grew up and see how it has shaped his skiing and his life.”
