“Julia & Dmitry” by Bobby Pavlovsky

As Julia & Dmitry talk about their childhoods, growing up Ukraine & immigration from Kiev to the United States, they prepare Olivier salad; a salad that is synonymous with Soviet cuisine.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“Food and cooking are a major part of my life and culture. The intention of this film was to capture the moments of spending time with your parents or grandparents as they cook and talk, you ask questions about their lives, and look through old photo albums together. I wish I could have that experience again with my grandparents, so being able to capture these moments with my parents was very important to me.”
