“More Than Enough” By Alexander Sworik

Beyond the Short Official Premiere

Competitive sport brought stress and pressure to Richard’s life. Until he found pickleball - America’s fastest-growing sport. Now, he’s playing matches across the United States, starting conversations about men’s mental health.

FROM THE DIRECTOR

“"More than Enough" is a deeply personal and transformative documentary that explores Richard's battle with mental health during his high school years and his subsequent immersion in the world of pickleball. This project holds immense significance to me, as it addresses the often-overlooked issue of men's mental health—a topic close to my heart.

The decision to film the entire project on 16mm film was intentional, allowing us to capture Richard’s story’s raw emotion and authenticity. We committed to a meticulous and deliberate approach, ensuring that each frame conveyed the essence of Richard's experiences. This collaboration with Adam, who shared my vision and brought his own artistic sensibilities to the project, enabled us to maintain a heightened level of intentionality throughout the filmmaking process.

Through this project, we aim to challenge societal expectations, foster empathy, and inspire positive change, ultimately encouraging individuals to embrace their vulnerabilities and seek support.”
