“Patras - She Wants Me (Still)” by Crispin Tan
Succumbing to their uninhibited curiosities, four boys get what’s coming to them when they disturb a Kuntil Anak who wanted nothing more than to be left alone. What begins as a quick adventure into an abandoned mansion spirals into a bizarre chain of misguided, over-the-top romantic gestures as the boys, lost in their own delusions, mistake the ghost’s presence for something far more affectionate. Against all odds, the Kuntil Anak becomes unexpectedly charmed by their antics, only to be hurt and enraged when the spell breaks and the boys abruptly remember that she is, in fact, a blood-hungry spirit. Scorned and furious, she unleashes a rampage that turns their foolish flirtation into a full-blown supernatural nightmare.

“The band’s brief was to amplify the song’s spooky atmosphere. In response, I centered the video around the Kuntilanak/Pontianak from Indonesian and Singaporean folklore, using the supernatural as a playful yet unsettling metaphor for obsession and misperception.”
