We are in the trenches, during the Great War. We follow, in a sequence shot, the singer Pierre De Maere, a soldier who is gripped by a kind of madness, and decides to risk his life by escaping from the battlefield.

"les yeux de celui qui regarde" - the eyes of the beholder. The eyes of each character: blind, aggressive, unconditionally in love, and brought to catharsis.

Twin brothers meet 20 years later, then tragically say goodbye to each other.
