Beyond the Short Official Premiere
Isaac, Andrew, and Liv live with one another in New York City and struggle to navigate their way into the business of adulthood as they toss and turn in the rumble of youth. Fractured by epilepsy, addiction, and unemployment - they turn to whatever it takes to clutch their future back into their own hands.
FROM THE DIRECTOR
"This wasn't an easy shoot. I had just moved to New York City two weeks before the start of this production and it was more money and time than I'd ever spent on a project. But I was confident in the friends I knew coming in that I had worked with before - namely three of the four cast members (Taina, Connor and Emily), my amazing gaffer/1st ac Raul Colon, and my production designer Elle Keys. After casting and meeting my lead - I knew Marco was the right person to take us through the story. Because we had filmed during covid, two of the members of the crew ended up testing positive and we weren't able to finish the film properly - meaning we had to piece together the film's ending in the edit. And after two and a half years I can say that it's become what it always wanted to be and I couldn't be more proud of the end result. Every frame of this film is beaming with memories and nostalgia for me because of how new the city was for me at that time (of which the main character Isaac, is experiencing as well). And because of the moments spent filming with some of my closest friends in the best city in the world. I think as filmmakers, we tend to base our self worth on our most recent projects, and this one being two and a half years old, I sometimes believe I would direct a certain scene or pick a different lighting choice in a room, but just accepting that often - a film dictates what it wants to become. And this one did. I was twenty four when I began making this film and now I'm about to turn twenty seven. There's something there, a feeling that's synonymous with what I was trying to depict in this film and for that, I'll always be grateful for the untitled ceremony I went through before, during, after this project, and for the people that helped make it happen."
