Beyond the Short Official Premiere

In “Brown Sugar”, we find a tween girl questioning beauty standards and watch as she compares herself to her friends and mother on her birthday. We follow Rue on her birthday as she spends her day playing around with her friends and spending time with her mom. Our impressionable lead is faced with a choice and decides to take matters into her own hands.
