Film à Sketches: a novel take to the Fashion Film Genre with Innovative "Editorial in Motion" Approach.

“Filmed in Tbilisi, Georgia, a country renowned for its local fashion scene and craftsmanship, Film à Sketches showcases the distinctive look of several pieces from the Georgian label Situationist, known for its exceptional tailoring, libertine attitude, and сommitment to Georgian identity. Nele van Olfen styled the looks, which served as an armour for the models to unite them into a cohesive group of characters.
The project places a strong emphasis on mise-en-scene and the physical performance of the models. The narrative draws inspiration from Raul Ruiz's series Poetics of Cinema, with the overall tone of the film being slightly surreal, light-hearted, yet dry. The soundtrack for the film is inspired by 60s-70s Crime films such as Point Blank, Night Moves, and The Long Goodbye.
Film à Sketches tells a story through a series of videos, without being limited to a traditional longer form. Each video provides a new piece of the puzzle for the audience to take on and reinterpret as they wish. Sinchuk explains, "The idea of the series is inspired by the medium of fashion magazine editorials, where photos can be taken in a range of locations only connected by the models and clothing. Film à Sketches blurs the lines between the formats, presenting a long fashion film as an 'Editorial in Motion.'"
