In Her Skin reveals the interplay between the private and the public in the everyday lives of five women.
Set against the backdrop of the iconic Lake Kleptuza, the film combines contemporary, classical & commercial dance, weaving them together into a mysterious world inspired by the surrealistic qualities of the small town – where nothing ever stays hidden…
FROM THE DIRECTORS
“When I visit Velingrad where we shot the film, I often stop by Kleptuza Lake and I feel something very interesting there. There is a mystique and an unexpected contact between the human and the natural. There are many different bodies of water - a waterfall, a calm lake, and other secret places and each of them carries a different energy.
When I set out to create a film or a performance, there's always a particular atmosphere or feeling that I want to bring the audience to. I would say the feeling of In Her Skin is one of an inescapable sadness masked by a desire to explore the mysteries of other people's everyday lives.”
