“Ten Dollar Funeral” by Taryn Ward

A protective older brother attempts to rid his home of rodents and reconnect with his sister.

"Ten Dollar Funeral" is a dark comedy that revolves around a domestic rodent infestation and the seemingly compassionate way in which two roommates, Guy and Buddy, attempt to solve it.

After releasing a captured mouse safely into the wilderness, Guy finds himself alone with his roommate, making it clear that his trip into isolation with Buddy was merely a ruse for vengeance. Juxtaposed with one of the most aggressive rounds in boxing history, the story of Ten Dollar Funeral explores themes of family, power and violence.
