“The Living” By Raphael Gonzalez
A relationship is tested when one friend, Ezra, asks the other, Gavin, to help him commit his suicide.
“The Living” is about a friendship that has gone wrong. Ezra and Gavin are two young men who have known each other for a while. For whatever reason, time has driven the two apart. The two meet each other under the pretense of Ezra’s planned suicide, which he asks Gavin to help him with. Gavin agrees. The story deals with themes of friendship, mental health, and physical vs emotional abuse. By making this film, I hope to provide an entertaining yet insightful look at what “being there” for someone should (and sometimes shouldn’t) look like.
