“Girl Friend” By Chloe Sarbib

Synopsis

When Sophie's best friend starts dating someone new, she'll do whatever it takes to make things go back to the way they were.

Directors statement

"Girl Friend” is a film about the fine line between female friendship and romantic love. It's about the heartbreak of the moment when your other half outgrows you, and about the depth of loneliness you can only feel when you're 16. We shot in NYC on a tiny budget with teenage actors, setting out to make a movie featuring queer women that wasn't about coming out, but, instead, about how sometimes, you have to grow apart to grow up.
