“Luminescence“ by Lester Jones

Following the sun’s cycle, dancer Rhys Kosakowski performs an enchanting sense of worship to the bright light and energy source above him.

Shot in Sydney, Australia, the film communicates synergies found within nature in a meditative journey through the natural landscape and the relationships it gives life to.

“The lure of the sun.

It’s enticing essence provokes a celestial dance towards its nurturing glow.

It draws all of nature onwards. Upwards.

Luminescence celebrates the compulsion nature finds in being drawn to light.

The concept fuses fauna and human movement as it moves and dances to feel the warmth and energy of a brilliant radiance above.

As a dancer, artist of movement and a florist Rhys Kosakowski is at the centre of the project.

We open on Rhys in a bright, day light flooded space within which Rhys is tending to plants.

We see the intimacy and connection between Rhys and the plants, and establish the nourishing presence of the light above them both.”
