“Morbo” by Jonas Sanson

A Beyond the Short Official Premiere

In the space where the simulacrum of the urban and the human, of chaos, pain, and celebration dwells, the attraction to morbidity merges the real and the virtual in the frenetic duality of social order and disorder. All these scenes are inside you.

From the Filmmaker

“With a frenetic editing style and using images created with the use of artificial intelligence tools, the film "Morbo" proposes a journey through the streets of a large city where the dualities of urban life are explicitly amplified. By merging mundane everyday scenes with moments of raw violence and effusive celebration, the film challenges perceptions and invites reflection on the complex nature of the human condition. Where does the celebration end and the chaos begin? What defines the line between love and hate, life and death?

The nauseating scenes challenge to confront these questions, to look at the fragility of social order and the intensity of human emotions. The original soundtrack, filled with urban elements, dialogues with the images that challenge to reflect on the world we inhabit and the choices we make every day when witnessing the transformation of ordinary people into protagonists of their own tragedies and triumphs.

In a world increasingly marked by polarization and violence, the film is a visual ode to the resilience of the human soul and the ability to find beauty even in the darkest situations. The film reflects on what it truly means to be human in a world where wars and conflicts are widely shared on social media and reduced to likes.”
