“Wide Open” by Brian Ferenchik
A young couple, Sean and Camilla, take a weekend retreat in the Hollywood Hills to escape the growing crime in the Los Angeles below. What begins as a relaxing weekend getaway turns sinister when Sean learns of Camilla’s true intentions behind booking the house and her doubts in him as the protector in their relationship.

FROM THE DIRECTOR
“A home invasion movie was always something I wanted to make. Out of all the sub-genres of thrillers and horror, it’s one that feels the most relatable to audiences and also provides a very immediate experience in relation to conflict i.e. someone unwelcome is in your home and you have to do something about it. And simply put, they’re f*cking fun movies.
Erotic thrillers are another sub-genre that I’ve always appreciated and feel don’t get the respect they deserve. Fusing these two genres felt really compelling and natural to me. There’s something so primal about protecting one’s partner and property—it made me think “I bet someone could get off on fighting a home invader and protecting their partner.” The idea of “home invasion as foreplay” seemed fun, entertaining, and titillating for audiences, while bringing up deeper questions on gender, security, and sex.”
